Originally from Sherbrooke, Quebec, Marie-Pierre Hétu grew up in Shippagan, N.B. She holds a Bachelor of Arts – Bachelor of Education from the Université de Moncton (major in history) and has been teaching for 15 years at Polyvalente W.-A.-Losier in Tracadie.

She considers herself multivalent, having had the chance to teach different subjects ranging from French to science, history and geography.  She currently coaches students in the Essential Skills Program and teaches the Place aux competences course newly offered to Grade 9 students.

Ms. H Hétu is actively involved in environmental projects, including: the establishment of a community garden at the school to provide students with a meaningful learning opportunity and foster exchanges with the community, and the presidency of eco W.-A.-L. which oversees all the school’s environmental initiatives such as the yard greening project.
